Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

FromAralia schmidtii roots an over-all glycoside preparation of high biological activity was isolated. The hydrolysis of this under severe conditions leads to oleanolic acid.

  2. 2.

From the methanol extract ofAralia schmidtii roots an individual triterpene saponin was isolated by means of partition and ion-exchange chromatography; this saponin is identical to araloside A fromAralia mandshurica.
