A new triterpenoid saponin, named coriacea saponin A ( 1 ), together with five known ones ( 2–6 ), was isolated from the roots of Holboellia coriacea Diels. Compounds 2–6 were obtained from Holboellia genus for the first time. Their structures were finally elucidated on the basis of 1D NMR, 2D NMR, and ESI-MS techniques and chemical methods.
