Communication 21. Condensation of dialdehyde monoacetals with nitro compounds

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The condensations of monoacetals of glyoxal and funaraldehyde with nitromethane, 2-nitropropane, and nitroacetic ester were carried out, and the hydrolysis of the hydroxy nitro compounds obtained was studied.

  2. 2.

    In an attempt to effect the dehydration of 3-nitrolactaldehyde diethyl acetal 2,5-diethoxy-3,6-bisnitromethyl-p-dioxane was obtained.
