1.
The rate constants for the inhibition of acetycholinesterase by O,O-diethyl S-[β-(arylmethylamino)ethyl] thiophosphates and their methyl sulfates were determined.

2.
Changes in the inhibiting capacity in the series of O,O-diethyl S-[β-(arylmethylamino)ethyl] thiophosphates toward acetylcholinesterase are associated mainly with the polar effects of the substituents in the benzene ring, whereas the anticholinesterase activity of the corresponding methyl sulfates is little dependent on the substituent.
