Summary
The previously undescribed N-2-hydroxyethylcrotonamide and N-2-hydroxyethyl-N-methylcrotonarnide were synthesized and characterized. N-2-Hydroxyethylcrotonamide was prepared by the reaction of crotonyl chloride and 2-aminoethanol in chloroform. N-2-Hydroxyethyl-N-methylcrotonamide was prepared by the reaction of crotonyl chloride and 2-methylaminoethanol in an aqueous solution of alkali.
