Rearrangement of the naphthalene molecular ion prior to fragmentation

Abstract

By13C labelling studies it has been shown that the C atoms of the molecular ion of naphthalene in an energy range between IP and 18.8 eV have lost their identity (complete scrambling) prior to the loss of C2H2 in the source.
