Abstract
The results of experimental and theoretical studies of the valence band of pyrolytic carbon, heat-treated beforehand at different temperatures ranging from 2300 to 3000°C, are presented. Analysis of the results indicates that the defectiveness of the material affects the electronic states at the top of the valence band.
