Electron in the field of a classical and a quantized plane wave traveling in the same direction

Abstract

The Dirac equation is solved exactly for an electron interacting with a quantized and a classical plane wave traveling in the same direction. It is shown that in a certain sense the system can be regarded as consisting of noninteracting quasiparticles.
