After the submission of this manuscript, Dr. Averil Karlsruher accidentally died on March 20, 1975. Dr. Karlsruher received his Ph.D. from the University of Maine in 1973 and had been an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba since 1972. A contributor to theAmerican Journal of Community Psychology over the last several years, Dr. Karlsruher was deeply committed to the development of community psychology. He was 29 at the time of his death and is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and his daughter, Meagan.
