Abstract
A description is given of an instrument for determining the elasticity modulus E of hardened binders of glass-reinforced plastics at elevated temperatures by measuring the strain of a ring specimen. The temperature dependence of E of resins PN-1, K-156, ED-5 and K-38-1 was studied, and values of E determined by various methods were compared. It was shown that the temperature dependence of E is described by E=A · exp (Q)/RT, the temperature range of the applicability of this equation was determined, and empirical values of constants A and Q for each of the resins studied were found.
