Impact of a massive body against a glass-reinforced plastic beam

Abstract

The behavior of glass-reinforced plastic beams under the impact of a massive body is examined. The contact and wave processes associated with dynamic bending have been experimentally investigated. All the experiments are compared with a numerical solution of the Timoshenko equation.
