Conclusions
-
1.
The cyanoethylation of cyclopentadiene (CPD) was accomplished under various conditions.
-
2.
A substantial amount of polycyanoethylated CPD derivatives is formed in the cyanoethylation of the CPD anion, independent of the ratio of the starting reactants.
-
3.
Conditions were found for preparing the previously unknownβ-cyanoethylferrocene.
