Organoboron compounds

Communication 209. The cleavage of the boron-carbon bond in 2-alkoxy-1,4-pentadienyl compounds of boron under the action of alcohols

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The reaction of 2-alkoxyvinyl compounds of boron with alcohols was studied.

  2. 2.

The boron-carbon bond in trans-2-alkoxyvinyl compounds of boron is cleaved considerably more readily by alcohols than the B-alkyl bond, which is explained by the greater polarity of the B-Csp 2 bond in comparison with the B-Csp 3 bond.
