Summary
-
1.
The absolute values of the rate constant of the elementary reaction of oxygen atoms with acetylene were measured in the temperature interval 120–290°.
-
2.
A value of the activation energy of the rate constant of the reaction, equal to 3100 cal/mole was obtained, along with a value of the preexponential factor equal to 2.9·10−13 cm3·sec−1·molecule−1.
-
3.
The basic direction of the reaction of oxygen atoms with acetylene is the reaction proceeding with cleavage of the CΞC triple bond.
