Chemiluminescence in inhibited oxidation reactions, and the activity of inhibitors Communication 2. Measuring the activity of inhibitors by chemiluminescence methods

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

It is shown that it is possible to use chemiluminescence methods for measuring the activity of inhibitors and verifying the mechanism by which they act.

  2. 2.

Measurements are made of the relative values of the rate constants for reactions between peroxide radicals and various inhibitors (phenols and amines).

  3. 3.

An explanation is given for the effect which the nature of the substance undergoing oxidation has on the chemiluminescence kinetics and on the relations between the luminescence intensity and the inhibited concentration.
