Summary
-
1.
Using the polarographic method it has been shown that in methanol-water solutions of phenylhydrazones of several aldehydes and ketones the following three tautomeric structures are formed, directly or indirectly: the enhydrazinic, the hydrazonic, and the azo-structure.
-
2.
The polar effect of substituents on the polarographic reduction of the tautomeric forms of the compounds examined has been characterized by means of Taft-Hammett's equation.
