Effect of irradiation on density of polymers

  • Published:
Journal of engineering physics Aims and scope

Abstract

A survey is made of available data on the effect of irradiation on the density of several polymers. Results of measurements are presented pertaining to the density of polyethylene, polystyrene, polymethyl methacrylate, and polytetrafluoroethylene at temperatures from −196 to +100°C.
