Synthesis and odour of (Z)-dehydro-homo-β-santalol

Summary

Guided by molecular modeling studies, the synthesis of the title compound is described. The organoleptic evaluation proved the predicted real sandal like odour of (Z)-dehydro-homo-β-santalol.
