Conclusions
-
1.
A study was made of the short- and long-time strengths of hot-worked KhN55VMTFKYu alloy produced by powder metallurgy from a powder prepared from machining swarf.
-
2.
Heat treatment (quenching to solid solution + carbide precipitation quenching + intermetallic compound precipitation tempering) markedly lowers the strength and ductility levels of the alloy at 20°C, but increases its long-time strength at high temperatures.
-
3.
The room-temperature mechanical properties of KhN55VMTFKYu alloy produced by powder metallurgy and its heat resistance at 800–950°C are comparable with those of some nickel-base heat resistant alloys produced by the orthodox casting process.
