Abstract
In rat parotid gland slices incubated in vitro ornithine decarboxylase activity and the rate of protein synthesis were determined. A circahoralian rhythm of enzyme activity preceding inphase fluctuations in the range of protein synthesis was found. These results indicate a role of ornithine decarboxylase in maintenance of the circahoralian rhythm of the rate of protein synthesis in parotid gland cells.
