The reaction of titanium powder with hydrogen sulfide

  • Published:
Soviet Powder Metallurgy and Metal Ceramics Aims and scope

Summary

A study was made of the reaction of titanium powder with hydrogen sulfide. It was shown that, beginning from 600°C, titanium sulfides are formed with combined titanium and sulfur contents approaching 100%. The compositions of the products formed at 900 and 1200°C are similar to those of the monosulfide and the sesquisulfide, respectively.
