Conclusions

1.
The energy consumption of a fermenter of a capacity of 1500 liters fitted with a mechanical antifoamer of the cylindrical blade type was investigated.
-
2.
It was shown that the dependence of the relative power on the parameters of the hydrodynamic system, geometric characteristics of the system, and physical properties of the culture liquids can be expressed by the dimensionless relation of the form
$$Ng/N_0 = C\left[ {A \bullet \left( {\frac{H}{D}} \right)^{0.4} } \right]^m \bullet K_a \bullet K_d $$and the numerical values of the constants in this equation were found.
-
3.
The obtained data can be used for the determination of the level of required power at different stages of the fermentation process.
