Abstract
This article presents a social systems model for understanding the dynamics of organizational life in child care centers. The components of this model consist of the external environment, people, structure, processes, culture, and outcomes. A systems approach provides a useful paradigm for program administrators when considering different change strategies to improve their center's organizational effectiveness.
