Single-electron tunneling and phase transitions in granular films

Abstract

An overview is given on recent experiments on the transitions between insulating, resistive and superconducting phases in systems consisting of small tunnel junction lattices fabricated by electron beam lithography. Possible interpretations based on the Josephson junction array model are presented.
