Summary
Electron microscopy revealed the presence of annulate lamellae in the cytoplasm of a heavily granulated prolactin cell adenoma that had been removed from a 34-year-old male patient presenting impotence.
To our knowledge this is the third case of pituitary adenomas where annulate lamellae are reported.
