Spin diffusion in ferromagnetic superconductors

Abstract

The influence of spin diffusion on the superconducting transition temperature is studied for systems containing a periodic array of ferromagnetic coupled spins as well as for amorphous ferromagnets. The susceptibilities of the spin systems are subject to a sum rule which allows the determination of the spin diffusion coefficient. Detailed numerical calculations of the renormalized gap functions and self-energies on the imaginary frequency axis are performed. With the help of these quantities the superconducting transition temperature is determined. The results show a relatively small decrease ofT c in comparison to static limit calculations.
