Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

To eliminate brittleness in 1Kh21N5T steel, the heating temperature prior to rolling should be 1100–1130°C, the optimum quenching temperature 1020°C, and the alkalization temperature not above 360°C.

  2. 2.

To improve the plastic properties and reduce susceptibility to embrittlement the titanium content should be 0.25–0.50% Ti.
