Conclusions

Optimum hot pressing conditions have been developed for Al-base metal-powder substances.

  1. 1.

Compacting temperature is 400–410°C, and pressure 7000–8000 kg/cm2. Compacting time depends on the size of the article to be compacted, and is of the order of seconds.

  2. 2.

Metal dies may be used without gas-shielding, for the hot pressing operation.
