Effect of pressure on the Fermi surface of cadmium

Abstract

We calculate the effect of pressure on the annular area between the cap and monster of the Fermi surface of cadmium, using an isotropic parallel band model based on the free-electron model and the Stark-Falicov model. The latter gives good agreement with experiment.
