Abstract
A method for generating model fields of galaxies stochastically is described. The output from several such models is compared with observational data derived from a region on a UK 48-in. Schmidt plate measured by thecosmos machine. The results yield, for model matching observations, a maximum probability of 9.5% for a model with Gaussian distribution input parameters of 5±5 galaxies per cluster and cluster radius 4±4 Mpc.
