Fibre Chemistry Aims and scope

Conclusions

The allowable level of pentosan content in cellulose for chemical processing is determined not only by economic advantages, but mainly by the technological processes of processing the cellulose.

The viscose turbidity spectrum method is necessary to control the quality of cellulose from deciduous tree wood, which contains a large amount of xylan; this can adversely affect the microuniformity of the viscose. It can also be recommended for characterizing the viscose preparation process at various stages.
