A new dinitrogen compound of ruthenium(II) with propylenediaminetetraacetic acid

Summary

A new dinitrogen complex of formula Na2[Ru(PDTA)(N2)] · 2H2O has been synthesized in aqueous solution from [Ru(HPDTA) (H2O)] · H2O and NaN3. The complex has been characterized by chemical analysis, infrared and electronic spectra, and magnetic measurements. The thermal decomposition process has been studied using DTA and TG techniques. The evolution of gases was followed by gas chromatography.
