Abstract
Twelve epoxy acids have been detected in the seed lipids ofGaleopsis bifida Boenn. (family Lamiaceae). Their structures have been established by TLC, GLC, periodate-permanganate oxidation, hydrogenation, ORD, and UV, IR, and mass spectrometry. Three of them are known but this is the first time that they have been detected in this plant, and six of them are new. The absolute configurations of the two main epoxy acids have been determined.
