Conclusions
From the roots ofXanthogalum purpurascens collected in the region of the Arsiansk range, a new furocoumarin has been isolated with the formula C21H22O7, mp 104–105°C, [α] 20D + 109° (c 1.09; ethanol), and it has been named tomasin. On the basis of its UV, IR, and NMR spectra it has been established that it is 8-(2′-angeloyloxy-3′-hydroxy-3′-methylbutoxy)furo-3′, 2′:6, 7-coumarin.
