Fresenius' Zeitschrift für analytische Chemie Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

  1. 1.

The conditions for the quantitative reduction of mercuric chloride to mercurous chloride by ascorbic acid have been improved over those described in the literature. The new procedure requires only 30 minutes for quantitative completion as compared with 36 hours previously prescribed.

  2. 2.

A simple technique has been evolved for the estimation of ascorbic acid through its reaction with mercuric chloride.
