Conclusions
A comparison of the course of the solubility curves for MMO in water with the melting points of the monohydrate and the dihydrate indicates incongruent melting (with decomposition of the hydrates).
Solution of MMO monohydrate in DMAc of DMF at temperatures below 50°C takes place to a limited extent, which hinders the possibility of using aprotic solvents for diluting the MMO-cellulose solution.
In the crystalline phase of the MMO-cellulose solution, only the crystal hydrates of MMO have been identified by the x-ray diffraction method, and it has not been possible to discover an ordered polymer phase.
