Conclusions

The slope of the lines which show the concentration dependence of the viscosity of dilute CDA solutions is different from fractions from the very same specimen, and also depends on the technological parameters of the preparation process.

For the CDA polymer, which is complex in molecular and chemical composition, it is incorrect to a single solution concentration. The most objective parameter for estimating MW is the experimentally determined limiting viscosity number.

The MW of specimens can be compared from specific viscosity with some approximation only when there is a slight difference in the value of KH in a worked-out stable regime of multitonnage CDA preparation.
