L'inizio dell'abbozzo polmonare nel topo, studiato mediante la cultura in vitro

Summary

The foregut of 9-day mouse embryos was explanted before the appearance of the tracheo-bronchial diverticulum and cultured up to a maximum of 4 days on a clot of chicken plasma and embryonic extract. In about half of the cultures the anlage of the respiratory system was seen to form in vitro, and to reach, in general, the shape of a short tracheal trunk and two primary bronchi of different length, which did not give rise to any further branching.
