Zur Morphologie und Häufigkeit primärer Geschwülste der Nasenhöhlen und Nasennebenhöhlen bei Hund und Katze

Summary

34 neoplasms (including six recurrences) of the nasal and paranasal sinus in dogs and cats were diagnosed in a period of twelve years (1956–1967) at the Department of Veterinary Pathology in Munich. Using the nomenclature of human pathology, the tumors were grouped into osteosarcomas (4), chondrosarcomas (5), sarcomas (5), adenocarcinomas (5), squamous cell carcinomas (1), nonkeratinzing carcinomas (4), solid carcinomas (5), transitionalcell-carcinomas (4), and melanomas (1).

The average age of dogs with epithelial tumors was 8.9 years, of dogs with mesenchymal tumors 7.6 years. The reason for the increased numbers of epithelial neoplasms in the last years, reaching a peal in 1965 and decreasing in 1966 and 1967, is dicsussed.

Zusammenfassung

In den letzten zwölf Jahren wurden am Institut für Tierpathologie, München, 34 Neubildungen (davon 6 Rezidive) in der Nasenhöhle bei Karnivoren beobachtet und in Anlehnung an die humanmedizinische Nomenklatur histologisch als Osteosarkome (4 Fälle), Chondrosarkome (5 Fälle), Sarkome (5 Fälle), Adenocarcinome (5 Fälle), Plattenepithelcarcinome (1 Fall), Carcinome ohne Verhornung (4 Fälle), solide Carcinome (5 Fälle), übergangszellcarcinome (4 Fälle) und Melanome (1 Fall) klassifiziert. Das Durchschnittsalter für epitheliale Malignome des Nasenraumes ist 8,9 Jahre, das für nicht epitheliale Tumoren 7,6 Jahre. Die mögliche Ursache der Zunahme der epithelialen Neubildungen im Laufe der letzten Jahre, die 1965 einen Höhepunkt erreicht, 1966–1967 dagegen abfällt, wird diskutiert.
