Separation of tricyclic antidepressants and their metabolites using fused silica capillary columns gas-liquid chromatography

Summary

The selective gas-liquid chromatographic determination of the tricyclic antidepressants Imipramine, Clomipramine, Amitriptyline, Trimipramine, Doxepine, Protriptyline, Noxiptyline, Dibenzepine, Melitracene, Dimetacrine, Maprotiline, Mianserine, Nomifensine, Amoxapine, Loxapine and their metabolites in fused silica capillary columns using a thermoionic detector is described. A good separation was achieved using a column of cross-linked OV 1. The correlation coefficient of the standard ordinates in the region from 1–50 ng was between r = 0.9994 and 0.9999. The detection limit is within the lower therapeutic dosage values.
