Synthesis of polynuclear heterocyclic quinone imines — Derivatives of 4a,9-diazahydrofluoren-6-ones

  • Published:
Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

When derivatives of 4a-9-diaza-1,2,4a,9a-tetrahydrofluorene are oxidized by treatment with MnO2, the corresponding derivatives of 4a,9-diaza-1,2,4a,9a-tetrahydrofluoren-6-one are obtained. In a number of cases the reaction is accompanied by dehydrogenation of the side chains as well as the diazahydrofluorene fragment.
