Abstract
Depending on conditions, the condensation of 2-amino-3-cyano-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindole with Β-dicarbonyl compounds leads to 2-methyl-4-oxo- or 4-methyl-2-oxo-10-cyano-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrimido[1,2-a]indoles via the intermediate compounds: 2-(3-ethoxy-carbonyl-prop-2-en-2-yl amino) and 2-(1,3-dioxobutylamino)-3-cyano-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroindoles, respectively.
