Summary

With the aid of radiological and clinical functional criteria, the results of 33 hip joints, operated after the method of Salter, are analysed. As in most cases a femoral detorsion occurs as a result of the pelvic osteotomy, basic coupling of the pelvic osteotomy with a femoral osteotomy does not appear to be necessary. The importance of necessity of exact adherence to the principles of surgical technique, as described by Salter, as well as pre and post operative care, is stressed.

Zusammenfassung

An Hand von radiologischen und klinisch funktionellen Kriterien analysieren die Autoren die Ergebnisse von 33 nach Salter operierten Hüftgelenken. Eine grundsätzliche Koppelung der Beckenosteotomie mit einer Drehvarisierungsosteotomie erscheint nicht notwendig, da in den meisten Fällen eine spontane Detorsion als Folge der Beckenosteotomie eintritt. Auf die Notwendigkeit der strikten Befolgung der von Salter aufgestellten Prinzipien der operativen Technik sowie der Vor- und Nachbehandlung wird verwiesen.
