Summary
Clinical and pathological findings of abduction contracture of the shoulder caused by partial fibrosis of the deltoid were presented. The anatomical feature of the intermediate part of the deltoid muscle should be less emphasized concerning the pathogenesis. In most cases, this condition of abduction contracture of the shoulder might be comparable to the fibrous contracture of the quadriceps muscle caused by intramuscular injection.
