Summary
Proximal femur fractures endanger life of old people if they lead to a prolonged confinement to bed. Not only femoral neck fractures but also pertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures therefore bring about a vital indication for alloarthroplasty. From July 1971 to July 1973 32 cases of pertrochanteric and subtrochanteric fractures were treated by total hip replacement. In 16 cases the crutch stick prothesis of Mathys and Müller was used. Indications, surgical technique, results, and complications are discussed.
Zusammenfassung
Frakturen des coxalen Femurendes gefährden das Leben alter Menschen, sobald sie zu längerer Bettlägerigkeit führen. Nicht nur Schenkelhalsbrüche, sondern auch perund subtrochantere Femurfrakturen stellen deshalb in dieser Altersgruppe eine vitale Indikation zur Alloarthroplastik dar. In der Orthopädischen Universitätsklinik Heidelberg wurden von Juli 1971 bis Juli 1973 insgesamt 32 Trochanterfrakturen durch totalen Hüftgelenkersatz versorgt. In 16 Fällen wurde die von R. Mathys und M. E. Müller entwickelte „Krückstockprothese“ verwendet. Indikation, Operationstechnik, Ergebnisse und Komplikationen werden erörtert.
