Summary
The addition of tyrosine increased the lipid production in Peniophora sanguinea (Fr.) Bres. We analysed the fatty acid content of lipid containing extracts from 8-week cultures and found a shift from C18-acids to C16-acids and from unsaturated to saturated products. Because high tyrosine-level leads to a 30-fold pigment production, too, it seems, that during the process of pigment synthesis the cell metabolism is specially changed.
