Abstract
The impedances of inductive posts with a small capacitive gap in a waveguide are measured at 3.03 GHz. Measurements are carried out on posts with the gap between the top of the post and one of the walls of the waveguide (asymmetric configuration), and with the gap in the middle of the post (symmetric configuration). The theory for the first configuration is shown to be applicable to the other. The influence on the impedance of nonparallel faces of the gap is also calculated. Experimental results agree well with the theory.
