Summary
-
1.
The influence of kinetin on the distribution of inorganic substances was investigated in experiments with isolated leaves of Nicotiana tabacum.
-
2.
The elements were applied to the leaf surface in the form of 86RbCl, 42KNO3, KH2 32PO4, 59FeCl3, 45CaCl2, 65ZnCl2, Na2 35SO4, 60CoCl2 and 54MnCl2.
-
3.
Kinetin did not have an attraction for the inorganic substances as it does for products of protein decomposition.
-
4.
It can even be presumed, that kinetin has an inhibitory effect on the translocation of easily movable elements like rubidium, potassium and phosphorus.
-
5.
The large differences between the results of the potassium and the rubidium series of experiments may have physiological reasons, but it is also possible that the different concentrations of the applied solutes contribute to this effect.
Zusammenfassung
-
1.
