Summary
On rabbit eyes the influence of hard and soft hydrophilic contactlenses was determined on some metabolites of the glycolysis and hydration. The epithelium and stroma under hard contact-lenses shows a significant depletion of glucose and an increase of hydration, while the soft hydrophilic contact-lenses cause only minimal differences to normal tissue.
