Abstract

A DTA-investigation has been conducted in the stable field of calcite between 8 to 45 kb and 400 to 1300 ° C. Two high temperature transitions of calcite with moderate pressure dependency were encountered in the temperature range of 700 to 800 ° C and around 1,000 ° C. In addition the calcite-aragonite transition was reexamined between 10 to 45 kb and two triple points were located at 720±20 ° C/18±1 kb and at 1,030±20 ° C/31 ± 1kb.
